The Commercial Photography program offers you the perfect opportunity to develop your photography style in a highly creative environment, while exploring cutting-edge photography techniques, equipment, software, and technology. This hands-on program will equip you with a strong foundation as you develop your portfolio in both digital and film techniques. Broad exposure to all types of photography will help you find an area of specialty, such as sports, fashion, journalism, or portrait photography. An on-campus photo studio and industry-standard darkroom will give you experience in a professional setting.


Commercial Photography I

The Commercial Photography I program gives you the opportunity to develop your photography style in a highly creative environment, while exploring cutting- edge photography techniques, equipment, software, and technology. You will be exposed to all types of photography, such as fashion, fine art, journalism, portrait, product, and sports photography. You will master the fundamentals of Black and White film photography and Digital photography. You will utilize the basic elements and principles of design as they relate to photography. You will learn how to use a 35mm manually operated camera and industry-standard darkroom equipment. You will demonstrate how to develop quality negatives and photographs. You will learn how to use a digital single lens reflex camera and how to use the manual functions for creative control. You will demonstrate how to edit and use Photoshop and digital printing techniques. You will learn proper lighting techniques in the on-campus photography studio.


Commercial Photography II

In this program, students would do the work study program. They would do an internship with a company that relates to photography for 15 hours a week (3 days) and the other 5 hours (2 days) they would come to my class to be a photography lab/studio assistant. They would also learn more advance Photoshop skills, Black and White darkroom skills, along with alternative photography techniques.
