WBL Pre-Enrollment Forms

All forms must be completed and turned in before a student will be enrolled in the class.

Work-Based Learning (WBL) Kick-Off Meeting

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 ~ 12:45 pm to 1:15 pm


Coordinator Approval Required

1. Meets EVERY Tuesday during lunch with no absences allowed during the mini.
2. Must have had, or is currently taking, a unit of related course work.
3. Students may earn .5 or 1 unit of credit per mini.

APPRENTICESHIP – already earned 1 credit in related course work and plans to pursue a career in the area. (Any subject area)

COOP – concurrently enrolled in a related Technical Education course, paid or unpaid job.
(Business and Computer Science courses)

INTERNSHIP – already earned a minimum of 1 credit in a Technical Education course.
(Business and Computer Science courses)

Required Work Hours for Credit:
.5 credit = 100 Hours minimum per mini
1 Credit = 200 Hours minimum per mini


WBL (Work Based Learning) Students
Georgia Work Ready Assessment

Test Dates ~ September 20th and December 6th

WBL (Work Based Learning) students take the Georgia Work Ready Assessment test. The Assessment allows students to be a part of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce initiative to improve the job training and marketability of Georgia's workforce. The Work Ready initiative is designed to drive future economic growth for the state. After taking the assessment, students will have the opportunity to become a part of the Georgia Work Ready database which provides new opportunities - for both Georgia job seekers and employers. This database is available exclusively to individuals who hold a Work Ready Certificate. The assessment was administered by Gwinnett Technical College.
